I worked for many years as a chef before a career change to interpreting. I became an interpreter due to falling in love with it at a conference and felt 'What a great job!'. My brother is now profoundly deaf which is the reason I took this path. I love my job no two days are the same. I have gone down the medical route mainly but am happy in most domains. I have done volunteer work with macmillian and Marie Curie to help fund raise and raise awareness. I love being outdoors - whether that's walking my dog, in my garden or down the allotment. I love the sense of achievement I get when I see things grow - all the better if I can cook and eat it! I'm also very keen on DIY and up-cycling and have made several items for my home from 'found materials'. I would say this makes me pretty resourceful and can turn my hand to most things as I like to be challenged; I won't let things beat me.
I am a very loyal friend and would go out of my way to help people. I'm also reliable and flexible. I feel these are traits I have within my working life too.
